The
mountains of the Henri Pittier National Park are traversed by old
tracks; the reminisce of a once booming coffee and cocoa trade during
the Spanish colonial era (16th to 19th Century). Many of these paths
have been lost to the jungle, however some can still be explored
today.
Colonial ruins, abandoned coffee farms and pre-Columbian petroglifs
alongside with sightings of Howler Monkeys, Harpy Eagles, Sloths,
and Ocelots can be some of the highlights of these treks. We organize
several treks varying in difficulty and length led by local guides.
Other treks such as the walk to the remote Maya Beach can be done
independently with the help of our guidance and assistance.
